During the month of October, McKinsey is hosting an online forum to get public input on how to build a better, more accessible Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool (OCAT). Ten years ago, McKinsey and Venture Philanthropy Partners developed OCAT to help nonprofits better assess their operational capacity and identify areas that need improvement. The tool allows nonprofits to rate themselves across a range of critical areas, including vision, strategy, organizational health and human resources. Since its launch, the tool has been used by thousands of funders and nonprofits as part of their strategic planning efforts, and more than 70 organizations have requested permission to modify or replicate the tool.
We now need your help ensuring version 2.0 is even more useful to nonprofits around the world. By visiting our online platform [LINK: http://ocat.mckinseyonsociety.com/ ] you will be able to browse the tool and take a brief survey to offer your valuable insights into the issues nonprofits are facing today and how this tool can be even more effective in supporting your work.

Comment by Ryan Adams on October 28, 2011 at 5:05pm This is the last week to tell us how you think we can make version 2.0 of the Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool (OCAT) an even more effective tool for nonprofits.
We’ve recently joined Twitter, we decided to mark the occasion with our first ever Tweetchat!
Since this will be the last chance to give input on OCAT (and since this is our first time doing this!), we hope you will join the chat on Tuesday, November 1 from 1-2pm ET with McKinsey Partner @LynnTaliento. For more information, please click here. If you would like to ask any questions or suggest topics ahead of time, please tweet @McKinseySociety or get in touch via email. We look forward to chatting with you!
